lyntonscotlandLynton Scotland is vice president of operational excellence at NRG Energy Incorporated, a leading generator and seller of power in the US. In that capacity he is responsible for the corporate project management office and the “FORNRG” (Focus On ROIC @ NRG) initiative. FORNRG is a flagship cost savings and process improvement program that returns over $300 million annual savings to the company. Lynton is also a board member of the Executive Leadership Council & Foundation, a member of the board of trustees of the University of Dayton, a member of the advisory council for the University of Dayton School of Engineering, and board chairman for Urban Promise Wilmington.

Prior to joining NRG in 2006, Lynton worked at Hercules Incorporated for eighteen years, holding positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, quality, sales, marketing, work process redesign and procurement. He served as director of global strategic procurement with responsibility for worldwide procurement of hydrocarbon products and energy. He was a member of the management team of the Fiber Visions and Pinova divisions of the company. Lynton was also responsible for sales and marketing for Hercules Sanyo Incorporated (HSI) a joint venture between Hercules Incorporated of Wilmington Delaware and Sanyo Chemical Company of Kyoto Japan. He was also an adjunct professor for the County College of Morris, NJ, where he taught courses in statistics and calculus.

Lynton holds a MBA in marketing and international business from the University of Pittsburgh, and a master’s degree in statistics from Rutgers University. He completed his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at the University of Dayton, and also holds a certificate of professional development from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
